Going to the Zoo | Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX Child and Family Photographer

This week I decided it was time to hit one of the places on the Summer Bucket List.  My kids have been on tablets too much lately and we needed some fresh air and scenery.  So we packed a lunch and headed to Gainesville's Frank Buck Zoo, which is about 50 minutes from Flower Mound.  

This was our first visit here and I knew from friends that it's a small zoo so I figured that was perfect with the summer heat upon us.

This zoo is especially perfect to younger children as it makes a complete circle around the zoo with the animals along the circle.  One of the largest animals are the giraffe's.  We sadly missed their feeding which is the highlight of this zoo.  Be sure to arrive for their 10:30 a.m. feeding.

 Frank Buck Zoo has been operating since the 1930's and was started as the Gainesville Community Circus.  It has more than 130 animals.

 The zoo is located in Leonard Park which has a train, large playground, pavilion, and aquatic center.  It makes it a great day trip!

Train tickets are $2 per person.

 The Aquatic Center is $5 per person and definitely would make a great place to cool off.  They open at 1 p.m. during the weekdays.

1st Birthday | Flower Mound, TX Newborn & Baby Photographer

A First Birthday is a very special milestone for every parent.  You made it through each challenging stage of a baby's 1st year of life.  This little guy I got to capture his newborn portraits a year ago and now he's 1 year!  Mom requested a park location with a baby swing because T. loves to swing!  T. has the sweetest personality, so calm and sweet.

2016 Seniors your special year is near!  Don't forget to schedule your senior portraits.  Now is a great time before the school year rush.

               

Check out these tips to help prepare for your special session!

1. Schedule your portraits, late Summer-early Fall is usually best.

2. Choose your location(s). Think about what defines you, urban, rural, a little of both.  Nature, rustic, grunge, style ... Here are some other ideas.

                             

3. What are your interests that you want to include?  Sports, music, art, drama, cars, dance, etc... 

4. I encourage outfit changes to spice it up.  This can include a sports uniform, causal, formal attire, etc... Here are more "what to wear ideas".

Beach Fun | Flower Mound/Highland Village, TX Photographer

Last week we vacationed in Destin, Florida with my sister and her family.  It was our first visit there, I'm still amazed with the beauty there!  I look forward to returning in the future.  There were so many things that we didn't get to do.  The majority of our time was spent relaxing and having fun on the gorgeous beach.
