Have I mentioned Spring being my favorite season of the year? I love flowers and gardening. I also love wild flowers blooming off the roadways, it brings color and life after Winter.

Can't believe she's 1 | Flower Mound, TX baby photographer
It's hard to believe Miss. L is 1 already! Her 1st year went by so quickly and I feel honored to have been able to photograph her during her special year. She is one of my baby planners, Baby's 1st Year is a wonderful program I offer that includes 4 sessions of your baby in the 1st year. At the end of the program you receive a storyboard that includes 1 image from each session.
Back to Miss. L she is very special to me because she is also the daughter of my best friend. I won't ever forget the day she was born. Her mommy had an emergency delivery due to Eclampsia which is very dangerous for mom and baby. The only way to treat it is delivery of the baby so mom can be treated appropriately. Thankfully Miss. L was 37 weeks gestation so she was born healthy at 6 lbs. 5 oz. She's still tiny and is the sweetest baby girl! She looks up to her 3 big brothers at home. Keep posted for her cake smash storyboard this week.

Spring to the Garden-Grapevine Botanical Mini-Session | DFW, TX area family Photographers
I had the pleasure of taking this beautiful family's Spring Portraits this week. We meet at Grapevine Botanical Gardens in Heritage Park. It's a great size, big enough to find nice spots for portraits yet small enough to move around quickly. Their daughter is the same age as my oldest daughter, she was full of laughter and smiles.

This is from a session back in October with my best friend's daughter in her Christening gown who was 7 months old at the time. I actually took her 1st birthday portraits yesterday which I'll be sharing a sneak peek of those soon. These were taken after her brother's 3 year portraits. We had planned on a re-do b/c baby L was very tired. Well it never happened, time and illness got in the way. I recently decided to look back through them and found that despite no smiles they are beautiful of her. The setting was perfect with the waterfall behind her.
Check out these leaves in the creek, when we arrived in this spot there were some on the sides and then they covered the water.
I couldn't resist sharing this one, we had her and the basket positioned where the water was pretty and then she started crying. =-(

Sneak Peek-Baby #3 on the Way | Dallas/Ft. Worth Maternity Photographer
This fun loving family is expecting baby #3 due at the end of the month. Mom and Dad sure create adorable children and I'm betting their newest addition will be just as cute! I can't wait for their newborn session. It's been 14 months since I've seen them last capturing their daughter's newborn portraits.
Playing games with their little guy, he was having a blast throwing grass and leaves at me.

It's Bluebonnet Season! | Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX Portrait Photographer
Here in Texas we look forward to the Wildflower Season in particular the beautiful Bluebonnets that turn our roadsides into an array of color! The Texas Bluebonnet is our state flower, or at least one of them according to this article. You will see many cars stopping off the highway with their families trickling out to snap family photos among the blue and white tipped flowers. This year, apparently won't be the best year for the crops in comparison to 2010 but we were able to find some nice patches in Irving, Texas.
I have fond childhood memories reading the story The Legend of the Bluebonnet, by Tomie dePaola.
If you are interested in Bluebonnet portraits please contact me about scheduling a session. These beautiful flowers only bloom for a short period of time. They will reach their peek by the 2nd week of April in North Texas.
Here are a few of my family.
My daughters walking very carefully not to step on them.
We actually set up a tripod for this shot and I ran with our youngest daughter to sit in the portrait.
