It's always exciting to use a new location.  I've driven past this spot many times and visualized taking portraits here.  It was so exciting when a new client suggested this spot for her children's Christmas portraits.

These two are twins and it was fun getting to know their sweet personalities.

Photographing your own family is one of the most challenging especially when it involves kids.  Over Thanksgiving we made 2 attempts for family portraits of my sister's family and my own.  It didn't help that the weather wasn't being cooperative.  The sky was very gray with drizzle on and off.  These sure do show the true personality of these little stinkers.  Those of the memories you want to remember anyway, right?

Frozen Roses | Dallas/Ft. Worth, Flower Mound, TX Photographer

This morning was quite chilly at 30° and a "feels like" of 25°.  I enjoyed a morning walk after dropping my children off at school.  There were active birds around, even a wood pecker working on a dead tree.  While nature was on my mind I thought about some of my roses in bloom that I noticed last night.  So I grabbed my new macro lens to see what I could capture this morning.  Due to the temperature, these beautiful blooms are frozen.  You can see the frost lining the edges of the petals.

Christmas Capital | Grapevine, TX Child & Family Photographer

Grapevine is one of my favorite places, I love the old downtown area.  At Christmas they decorate up and down Main Street.  This year I noticed they've added benches and additional props.  For a photographer this is an added bonus!  Enough though my girls act like portrait taking is torture I think they enjoyed it too.  This year we included our dog as he celebrated turning 12 years old this month.

A Baby's 1st Holiday is an exciting time, this sweet family had their first holiday portraits taken.  Their little guy wasn't so sure what to think of all of the people, sounds, and a photographer in his face.  He sure is a cutie!

Double 1st Birthday | Denton County/Flower Mound, TX Baby Photographer

A First Birthday Milestone may be brought by tears, joy, or relief of making it through the 1st year.  These two precious sweethearts I've been capturing their milestones throughout their first year.  When I asked mom and dad how they were feeling now that their twins are 1, they said there were excited.  They are now walking, interact, and play more with each other.  It's amazing how a tiny newborn changes so much within 12 months.
