Beach Family Time 3 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

We checked out Pleasure Pier the night of our beach day.  This is a very clean and safe amusement park located along the seawall in Galveston Island, TX.  Just like most amusement parks be ready to spend a bit for the experience.  They were very good with safety checks and keeping gates locked.  Our youngest was able to ride 4 or 5 rides with an adult on some.  Our oldest was just a couple inches shy of riding all the rides.

This is the first time I've seen a double deck carousel.

I always loved this ride growing up.  I had a turn later in the night, daughter #2 wasn't tall enough to ride.

Check out those two serious drivers!

On our anniversary, we rode the Ferry to Bolivar Island.  I have fond memories of riding the ferry as a child.  I remember going to the beach from the ferry so my parents may have taken us to Crystal Beach.

I love Lighthouses, this one is private so there is no public access to visit.

Bolivar Island has an interesting history, we visited Fort Travis Park.

Crystal Beach, there were some beautiful beach homes right off the beach and vehicles were allowed to drive directly on the beach.

We spotted dolphins on our ride back on the ferry to Galveston Island.

Baby Blues on the Beach | Flower Mound, TX Children's Photography

We recently went to Galveston Island, TX for vacation.  I have fond memories of going to Galveston as a child growing up in Houston.  Our girls loved playing in the sand but were not so crazy about the salt water and waves.  On our last day, I wanted to take some portraits of them on the beach in their matching dresses.  Well our 4 year old refused to wear the matching dress her big sister was wearing.  Thankfully I had a backup that coordinated.  We ran out of time to take them before dinner so we headed down to the beach after dinner with ice-cream stained dresses and were quickly loosing light.  These "portraits" turned into "snaps" due to uncooperative children.  Which I still cherish b/c they were just being themselves.  Maybe someday I'll get those dream beach portraits.

This is what I captured of my 4 year old, she was refusing to have her "picture" taken and just wanted to play in the sand.  She is our messy child, always has been.

It was so windy!
Attempt to get one just a flashy snap after sun set of both of them.

The joys of being a photographer's child!

The 1st full day, we grabbed a quick breakfast and headed to Stewart Beach. We had some light rain before breakfast and then again towards the end of our beach outing.

Part 1 of Beach Family Time

It's been 3 years since we last took a vacation to the beach.  Our children were only 3 years and 15 months old then.  This time we choose a closer beach, Galveston Island near Houston.  I grew up going to this beach, so I have fond memories of playing in the sand, jumping the waves in the Gulf, and riding the Ferry.  While it's not the clearest water or the prettiest beach, it's still fun!

We arrived just after 8 p.m. and once we unloaded the car, we crossed the street and over the seawall to check it out.

Fireworks | Flower Mound, TX family and baby photographer

Fireworks are always one of my favorite yearly events to look forward to since childhood.  Photographing them adds to the fun, it's always interesting to see how they turn out.  These were taken without a tripod which makes it a bit difficult with a slow shutter speed but I actually think it adds an artistic interest in some of them.  We were not sitting in the most ideal location this year, notice the soccer field light pole in some of them.

I thought this one looks like a flower.
