Project 52 Week 4

Theme:
My Favorite Thing

As I looked around my house I have many favorite things, from photographs, collections, etc...  However one favorite thing that caught my eye is an antique syrup pitcher that my grandmother "Mimi" game me when I was in college.  I still have the note inside that she wrote it says, "Robin when I saw this syrup pitcher in an antique store this summer I remembered how much you liked pancakes when you were a little girl." -Mimi

It's needing to be polished but I still love it!

Project 52 Week 3 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

This weeks theme for Clickin Mom's Project 52 Week 3 is "Routine"

Better late than never!

Our daily routine during the week is to walk to and from school. Lately we've had beautiful sunrises however we always seem to be a hurry and there is no time for the camera. So I captured this one from walking home from school today. It's a windy, cold (cold for TX day), and very sunny afternoon. I stopped my girls on the driveway before they rushed inside to capture their shadows. My older daughter grabbed her little sister's hand without being prompted and I thought that really showed their relationship. They are very close and loving to each other.

Art Party | Flower Mound, TX Child Photographer

Art Party Fun
Our daughter turned 9 this past Saturday and she loves art, so we decided on a paint your own pottery party at Color Me Mine.
As she is getting older we are trying to shrink the party size and make it more intimate so we invited family and neighbor friends this year.  Of course any party gives me a chance to be creative.  Back before Pinterest I would gather theme ideas from a birthday party website that had submissions of party ideas.  Now days with Pinterest it's nice to have more visual ideas.

For the cake I made a tie dye cake decorated in fondont and buttercream creating an artist paint pallet.

 The batter before being baked.

Cupcakes were a rainbow chip flavor and buttercream to look like paint blobs.

For snacks I made paint brush pretzels and marshmallow dipped sticks.  I also had bought a fruit try of rainbow colors but of course I forgot it at home.

Birthday girl chose a ladybug bank.

Sister chose a kitty cat.

I surprised her with rainbow flamed candles.

P52 Week 2 Theme: Intentions
As we enter 2016 I have many intentions or goals that I've set for myself.  One is to learn more about macro photography.  My husband gave me one of my dream lenses for my 40th birthday, a 100mm macro.  I can't wait to capture details of plants, bugs, a snow flake, an eye, etc...  Again here is a close up of the miniature rose Green Ice, I love the beauty and details of this rose.

Project 52 Week 1 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

Those not family with Project 52 it is a weekly photograph project, there are also 365 projects.  I've wanted to participate in one but wasn't sure I could stick with it.  So I'm starting with 52.  I'm in a group on Clickin Moms with themed weekly assignments, this week is a self portrait.  One that isn't an easy one since I'm always behind the camera rather than in front.  So here it goes!

Week 1-Self Portrait
My idea was to capture myself with one of my roses. I dreamed of growing roses since childhood note my screen name. I had over 30 roses in our yard and sadly many have contracted Rose Rosette disease over the past few months. If you aren't familiar with this disease it is a virus that is spread by micro mites which eventually kills the plant and causes blooms to be deformed. We will have to start fresh in the spring. The miniature rose I'm holding is called Green Ice, they start out with a peach bud open to a white bloom and then fade to a greenish bloom. It is one of the roses in our yard that will bloom year round. Anyway here I am just turned 40 in December and I was very over due for a hair cut & color. I'm not crazy about the hand chop here but I was holding the remote, LOL.
