Project 52 Week 12 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

Project 52
Week: 12
Theme: Get to Know your Gear Part 4-Know your Limits!

I pushed my camera to the highest ISO (25600 ISO) possible for this image.  I was surprised the grain isn't too terribly bad.  In Camera RAW I reduced the noise a tiny bit.  Most of the noise is more visible in the background than the subject or I would have run a program called Noiseware to reduce it more.

My willing subject is Calvin, who is nearly 13 years old and a bit moody at times.

A Texas Tradition | Flower Mound, TX Family Photographer

It's Bluebonnet Season!
Every year I drag my family to a Bluebonnet patch or field for family portraits, it's one of our traditions.  Spring is my favorite season and I look forward to seeing these flowers yearly.  We all enjoy looking back to memories of when the children were tiny, they grow up so fast!

Sweet 6 Months | Flower Mound/Highland Village, TX Baby Photographer

Sweet 6 Months!
I love this age, babies personalities really start to shine around 6-8 months.  They are able to sit up on their own and start to see their surroundings in a new light.  Beautiful Miss. H. is one of my baby planners and she's grown and changed so much since her newborn portraits.

Project 52 Week 11 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

Project 52
Week: 11
Theme: Get to know your gear Part 3-What's your normal?

My "normal" is usually either my 24-70mm or my newest lens 100mm. When I use my 24-70mm the majority of my images usually are between 35-70 range.

We took a trip to Texas Tulip Farm. This was our 2nd year to visit there, it's gorgeous!  It also was a great time to capture my daughter's 8 year birthday portraits.  The top image is with my 100mm lens of an interesting tulip bloom and the bottom I used my 24-70mm lens shoot at 51mm.

Celebrating # 8 | Flower Mound, TX Child Photographer

Miss. S. is celebrating 8 today!  She is sweet, stubborn, and spirited.
We returned to Texas Tulips for our 2nd year to capture her 8-year portraits.  The temperature was a bit chilly during our outing so it was a little challenging along with the wind.  We did have a great time selecting tulips.  The 2nd half of her portraits were taken at Grapevine Botanical Gardens.  We have gone there almost every year except for her 7th birthday to take a "running on the bridge" shot.

Project 52 Week 10 | Robin Kelm Photography

Project 52
Week: 10
Theme: Get to know your gear Part 2-What is normal?

"Normal" focal length is usually considered 50mm. So I used my 50mm prime lens for this shot.
Today we tried out a park in a nearby town, Bicentennial Park in Southlake.  I found this concrete dragon interesting.  In the summer apparently, it's a splash pad so we will have to go back and check it out.

Project 52 Week 9 | Flower Mound, TX Photographer

Project 52

Week: 9
Theme: Get to know your gear Park 1-Read your manual!

There is always something new you can learn!  I decided to give HDR (High Dynamic Range) shooting a try with my camera.  Three images of different exposures are captured for each shot and then merged together by the camera automatically.  The three exposures are normal, under, and over.  My camera has several effects you can select.  They are natural, art standard, art vivid, art bold, and art embossed.  My favorites were art vivid and art bold.

Here are some shots I took of flowers blooming in my yard.
